TRANSITIONS

As I made my way through Dublin to the train station back to Cork earlier, the temperature hovered in the 20s (°C) and was expected to drop to a freezing 14°C in the evening. It was a classic early autumn evening and my cold weather dread had set in already.  Given that the first few days of the season can be unpredictable weather-wise, having a few transitional pieces in your wardrobe to combat the finicky weather is key. One key piece at the top of my list is a black leather jacket. This cool-girl jacket can be worn with almost anything at every season and can easily balance out feminine and pastel/light colored pieces, which are commonly worn in the summer.

So here I am wearing a not very summer-ish outfit. I paired the jeans with a polyester shirt from Marks & Spencer. This look simply works for me especially in this transitional weather and it's something that anyone can easily replicate. I could wear this same outfit in October when the weather gets much colder, by simply changing the block heels for ankle boots for a more relaxed look and adding a chunky scarf.  This can also be turned to an evening look with a bolder shade of lipstick, and by simply adding more accessories before I meet with the girls for dinner later in the evening.

How would you style your leather jacket?
