EMBRACING MY IMPERFECTIONS

As someone who is fiercely independent and ambitious, I can be quite hard on myself sometimes. Over the past few years, however, my experiences have taught me to embrace my imperfections in order to ensure that I'm always moving forward and evolving towards being the very best version of myself. I've never really felt the need to idolise those in the public eye - not bloggers, celebrities or even my favorite artists.  I realised from an early age that "all that glitters is not gold". I mean who airs their dirty laundry on social media anyway?! You may have also realised by how often  talk with admiration and pride about my brothers and my parents. They are and always have been my greatest source of inspiration, but this doesn't mean I’ve never experienced the feeling of not being good enough plague and cloud my motivation to succeed. Quite the contrary. It took a few years to silence those negative voices and channel who I am, to ensure I am always on the right track for where I'd like to be.

5 Reasons You Should Travel While You’re Young

I have been very fortunate to travel extensively to different parts of the world while I’m still young. I have travelled abroad to the United States, Nigeria, Dubai, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Portugal, Germany, France and the list goes on. I lived on my own in Boston for a few months and I’ve recently moved to Dublin city to work in the IT world after completing my master’s degree. I wouldn’t trade my experiences for the world and I still have so many countries yet to visit. Based on my experience, I recommend every young person get out of their comfort zone and see what’s out there. Here are 5 ways traveling has changed me over the years.

PIXI GLOW TONIC - WORTH THE HYPE?

I've been tempted to try out the ever so popular Pixi Glow Tonic since Victoria's Secret's Jourdan Dunn listed the 23.50 toner as one of her staple skincare products for her morning and night time routine on Instagram. The British model spilled her skincare secrets on the post and made sure to clarify that both posts were not sponsored. Several other skincare experts have also reviewed the glow tonic on their blogs (including the skincare expert Caroline Hirons), so I decided to buy the toner when I stumbled upon it at Marks & Spencer

BRAIDS AS A PROTECTIVE STYLE

Many of us can recall the time when styling our hair by ourselves was completely off-limits and "mommy's job" and like me, I'm sure most of you could not wait to grow up and do as you wish with your hair. Well, when we finally grew older and started experimenting with our hair, too many of us went over the top - from coloring to cutting, to blow drying, to curling, and flat ironing and so on. Overtime frequent hairstyle changes (especially hairstyles that require heat) can be detrimental to the condition of our hair or long hair goals. Wearing natural hair can be exciting with endless styling possibilities, however, incorporating protective styles into my hair care regimen has helped me to maintain stronger and longer hair since I embarked on my natural hair journey.

Beauty brand, Clarins, recently introduced the Contouring Perfection makeup collection for Spring 2017. Prior to the launch in Dublin, I had tried a few of their skincare products in the past, so I was keen to get to know about the new makeup collection.
