EMBRACING MY IMPERFECTIONS

As someone who is fiercely independent and ambitious, I can be quite hard on myself sometimes. Over the past few years, however, my experiences have taught me to embrace my imperfections in order to ensure that I'm always moving forward and evolving towards being the very best version of myself. I've never really felt the need to idolise those in the public eye - not bloggers, celebrities or even my favorite artists.  I realised from an early age that "all that glitters is not gold". I mean who airs their dirty laundry on social media anyway?! You may have also realised by how often  talk with admiration and pride about my brothers and my parents. They are and always have been my greatest source of inspiration, but this doesn't mean I’ve never experienced the feeling of not being good enough plague and cloud my motivation to succeed. Quite the contrary. It took a few years to silence those negative voices and channel who I am, to ensure I am always on the right track for where I'd like to be.

5 BLOG TIPS I WOULD GIVE TO MY YOUNGER SELF

I recently read the post, 5 BLOG TIPS I WOULD'VE GIVEN MY YOUNGER SELF on the blog From Hats to Heels (HERE). This is one of my favorite blogs and it inspired me to also list the 5 tips I would give to my younger self. As I mentioned in a recent post, 'BLOGGING 101; THE BENEFITS OF MAKING MISTAKES', I have been a blogger for almost 3 years already. Back then I did not take it serious enough to create and publish new content every week. I wanted to share my interests but I was also self-conscious which as you can imagine, did not go well together. Here are 5 of the lessons I have learned over the years. Hopefully you can find a thing or two that applies to you, from the following:

Blogging 101: The Benefits of Making Mistakes

Although I am not a blogging expert, I have been a blogger for over two years now and I have learned a lot since I started. As many of you know my first blog was the streetstyle blog, ‘Captured by Deleki’, where I documented the looks of people on the streets of Cork and other parts of the world. At the time, I really wanted to be a streetstyle blogger because I love to travel and I love fashion. However, a few months after I created Captured by Deleki, I realised that I wanted a more personal blog.
